Re-becayyb is a performance work from Esyllt Angharad Lewis revisiting her now-closed primary school’s re-enactment of the history of the Rebecca Riots in the area surrounding Ysgol Felindre near Swansea.

Playing with live musical elements, historical callbacks and gaps in time and speech, Re-becayyb uses the stage and steps of Esyllt’s installation to be in dialogue with the video work which had been playing within the stage for the duration of the exhibition, splicing between the sound of now, and then, and over there. Performed in Oriel Mostyn on 6 September 2025 as part of BECA 2050, in the Carreg Ateb: Vision or Dream? exhibition with the National Gallery and Jeremy Deller.
